I've noticed cops also think that it's ok for _them_ to speed (without their lights on or in pursuit of anyone,) to not use blinkers, to drive in the wrong lane, and so on. Yet, do any of those things and you're looking at a ticket that costs you a fair bit and a higher insurance bill (which ultimately costs a lot more...)
Just saw a cop today turn on his lights. Speed thru the red light and turn off his light after he ran the red light. Cant believe they think that they can do that shit and it be ok. We should be allowed to give them tickets for that crap. See how they would like it.
They like to go down one way streets in the wrong direction around these parts, especially at night. Without lights or sirens, randomly slowing down or stopping, so I'm assuming it's for shits and giggles and because they can.
A long time ago in Europe, when I was but a wee one, cops cut off my mom's car, cut across four lanes, sped away with lights and sirens on, just to turn into a McDonald's parking lot. They parked, leisurely got out laughing, walked in, and ordered food. We went to the drive through so we actually saw them order and sit down.That was the most memorable encounter I've had with police over there. Quite impressive.
you probably technically could do a citizen's arrest or at least report them (all you need is their license number and the time and the precinct will know who was driving from their records.) Of course, then you'll have a ticked off cop.
